70. Just for Today

1 Lord, for tomorrow and its needs
I do not pray;
Keep me, my God, from sin
Just for today.
Let me be glad to do Thy will,
Prompt to obey,
Give me Thy helping grace
Just for today.

2 Keep me from wrong in thought or deed,
O Lord, I pray;
Be near me in my need,
Just for today.
When storm-clouds gather darkly round,
And hide my way.
Be Thou, my light, O Lord,
Just for today.

3 And when Thy summons comes to me,
Calling away,
Lend me Thy helping hand
Just for today.
So for tomorrow and its needs
I do not pray;
But keep me, guide me, Lord,
Just for today.
