63. Dear old flag

1 Our country’s flag so proudly wave,
Defying ev’ry wrong,
A banner from
From tyranny,
To thee we lift our song.
We pledge to thee for coming years
Our loyalty and life,
We’ll not neglect,
But ev’ry protect,
In ev’ry noble strife.

Refrain:
Oh, you dear old flag,
‘Tis for freedom you proudly wave,
Beneath your folds are welcomed all
The true and brave;
Oh, you dear old flag,
With your red and your white and blue,
As long as you shall wave for me,
I’ll fight for you.

2 From ev’ry hill and valley wave,
Thou emblem of the free,
Your cluster’d stars
And gleaming bars
Demand our loyalty;
For you our sires have fought and died,
Your honor to maintain,
Their sons today,
No less than they,
Will shield you from each stain. [Refrain]

3 God help us then to promptly heed
Our country’s ev’ry call,
When foes are near,
To have no fear,
But gladly give our all;
Wave then with honor, dear old flag,
To freedom’s cause be true,
We’ll lift you high
And while you fly,
We’ll ever fight for you. [Refrain]
