61. Whatsoever

1 Whatsoever burden presses on thy heart,
Take it to thy Saviour, he will peace impart,
Whatsoever sorrow, whatsoever fear,
Take it to thy Saviour, he will help and cheer.

Chorus:
Whosoever cometh all the power may know
Of each “whatsoever,” and its fulness show.
Oh, the love of Jesus! Oh, his grace divine!
Kingdom, power and glory, Lord, be ever thine.

2 Whatsoever plea thou bringest in his name,
Oh, the precious promise, through all years the same!
Whatsoever plea, according to his will,
Pray, the Father hears thee, and will answer still. [Chorus]

3 Whatsoever work thy hand may find to do
For our loving Master, service good and true,
Faithful be and earnest; “do it with thy might,”
Work while sunshine lingers, soon will come the night. [Chorus]

4 Whatsoever bidding find we in his word,
Whatsoever precept of our blessed Lord,
He who giveth ever strength as needs each day
Surely he will make us able to obey. [Chorus]
