C1. The Lord is in his holy temple

1 The Lord is in his holy temple;
let all the earth keep silence before him.

2 How sacred is this place! this is none
other than the house of God, and this is the gate of Heaven.

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised
in the assembly of the saints.

4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord
and glorify thy name for thou only art holy.

5 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil,
and canst not look on iniquity.

6 What then shall we say unto thee, O thou Preserver of
men? God be merciful to us sinners.

7 May we draw near to thee
with a true heart in the full assurance of faith.
