106. Working for the Master

1 Rows of cheerful faces
Gathered here today,
Eyes that scatter sunshine,
Hearts that sing and pray;
Hands that soothe and comfort,
Feet that carry joy,
Tell of eager servants
In the Lord’s employ.

Refrain:
Working for the Master,
Sowing all the day;
Reaping in the ev’ning,
Trusting all the way.

2 Speak a message softly
To the troubled soul;
Teach him faith in Jesus,
Who can make him whole;
Pity whose who stumble,
Haste to help the poor;
Let your words be honest,
And your actions pure. [Refrain]

3 If the work is heavy,
Lean on Jesus’ arm;
If the world is scornful,
He will save from harm;
Spend your life for others,
With a service free,
Waiting for God’s welcome,
“Come and welcome me.” [Refrain]
