80. Where is Your Trust?

1 What are you trusting in, brother?
Where anchors the hope of your soul?
There's many a storm to encounter,
And fearful the breakers will roll!
I trust in the strong Rock of Ages,
And anchor within that blest goal;
No tempest can shake or o'erwhelm me,
While there is the rest of my soul.
Trust in the Rock of Ages,
Trust in the Rock of Ages;
If you only believe,
And His pardon receive,
You are safe forevermore.

2 What are you boasting of, brother
In what do you glory today?
For you there is much tribulation,
And narrow and straight is the way!
I boast of the Lord, who redeem'd me,
And glory in Calvary's cross;
I fear not the world's persecutions,
I count all its treasures as dross.
Boast of the Lord, my brother,
Boast of the Lord, my brother,
Earthly pleasures will end
But, with Jesus your friend,
You are safe forevermore.

3 What do you joy in my brother,
And why is your heart of good cheer?
When darkness and clouds oft surround you,
And rumors of wars you can hear?
I joy in the Lord, my Salvation,
And He is my strength and my song!
I fear not the valley of shadows,
My Shepherd is faithful and strong.
Joy in the Lord, my brother,
Joy in the Lord, my brother,
Tho' the tempest may beat,
In this blessed retreat,
You are safe forevermore.
