9835. Haste, O Lord, My Spirit Faints

1 Haste, O Lord, my spirit faints;
Hear my weak, but earnest plea:
Savior of Thy trembling saints,
Haste, O haste to rescue me!

2 Fierce and many on my soul
Rush the threatening powers of hell.
Roll them back, Redeemer, roll
As the rock the ocean’s swell.

3 Shame, confusion, fear and grief,
Visit, Lord, Thy foes alone!
Light, and comfort, and relief,
Beam for ever on Thine own!

4 Help the weak, the fallen raise;
Fill the meek with joy and love:
Guide us through this earthly maze;
Land us safe at last above.
