1554 - 1609 Person Name: Giovanni Giacomo Gastoldi, da Caravaggio Scripture: Song of Solomon 2:1 Composer of "A LIETA VITA (IN DIR IST FREUDE)" in Complete Anglican Hymns Old and New Giovanni G. Gastoldi (b. 1582; d. 1609) served as a deacon and singer in the chapel of the Gonzaga family in Mantua. Succeeding Giaches de Wert, he directed music in the Church of Santa Barbaras in Mantua from 1592 to 1608. Little is known about the rest of his life. Gastoldi composed a considerable body of court music, such as madrigals, and some church music, but he is best known for his Balletti, which influenced composers such as Monteverdi, Hassler, and Morley. Adam Geibel

1855 - 1933 Scripture: Song of Solomon 2:1 Composer of "[In the name of Jesus there is music]" in Gloria in Excelsis Born: September 15, 1855, Neuenheim, Germany. Died: August 3, 1933, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Though blinded by an eye infection at age eight, Geibel was a successful composer, conductor, and organist. Emigrating from Germany probably around 1864, he studied at the Philadelphia Institute for the Blind, and wrote a number of Gospel songs, anthems, cantatas, etc. He founded the Adam Geibel Music Company, later evolved into the Hall-Mack Company, and later merged to become the Rodeheaver Hall-Mack Company. He was well known for secular songs like "Kentucky Babe" and "Sleep, Sleep, Sleep." In 1885, Geibel organized the J. B. Stetson Mission. He conducted the Stetson Chorus of Philadelphia, and from 1884-1901, was a music instructor at the Pennsylvania Institution for the Instruction of the Blind. Robert Carlton Savage

1914 - 1987 Person Name: Roberto C. Savage Scripture: Song of Solomon 2:1-13 Arranger of "[Hay un lirio que habita en los valles]" in Himnos de Fe y Alabanza Robert Carlson Savage was born in Wisconsin in 1914. He served as a missionary in Colombia and then worked 24 years for HCJB radio in Quito, Ecuador. He edited and compiled several songbooks and hymnals, including Himnos d Fe y Alabanza in 1966.
