1847 - 1919 Person Name: Maro L. Bartlett Composer of "[Father, lead me day by day]" in The School Hymnal Bartlett was born on October 25, 1847 in Browhelm, Ohio. He was a choral conductor, composed many popular tunes, and wrote several books on music. As of 1905, he was Director of the Des Moines, Iowa, College of Music. He died in 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa.
