1851 - 1920 Author of "Go to God for Grace to Help You" in Songs of Love and Praise No. 2 Pseudonym: Lidie H. Edmunds. Eliza Edmunds Hewitt was born in Philadelphia 28 June 1851. She was educated in the public schools and after graduation from high school became a teacher. However, she developed a spinal malady which cut short her career and made her a shut-in for many years. During her convalescence, she studied English literature. She felt a need to be useful to her church and began writing poems for the primary department. she went on to teach Sunday school, take an active part in the Philadelphia Elementary Union and become Superintendent of the primary department of Calvin Presbyterian Church. F. E. Belden

1858 - 1945 Composer of "[Go to God for grace to help you]" in Songs of Love and Praise No. 2 Belden was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1858. He began writing music in his late teenage years after moving to California with his family. For health reasons he later moved to Colorado. He returned to Battle Creek with his wife in the early 1880s, and there he became involved in Adventist Church publishing. F. E. Belden wrote many hymn tunes, gospel songs, and related texts in the early years of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Belden was able to rapidly write both music and poetry together which enabled him to write a song to fit a sermon while it was still being delivered. He also wrote songs for evangelist Billy Sunday. Though Belden’s later years were marred by misunderstandings with the church leadership over his royalties, he did donate his papers and manuscripts to the church’s seminary at his death. Her responsibilities include developing training resources and curriculum for the Worship Institute web site, publication series, and training events. She serves as a presenter at events sponsored by the Worship Institute, including academic courses, the annual Calvin Symposium on Worship, and other training events. Norma enjoys participating in worship especially in the areas of worship planning and music leadership and in developing those gifts in others. He holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance composition from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Nigeria, the Master of Arts degree in ethnomusicology from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Master of Music degree in organ performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Godwin Sadoh received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in organ performance and composition from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where he studied composition with Dinos Constantinides and church music with Quentin Faulkner. Dr. Sadoh authored numerous scholarly articles on modern African art music, organ building, church music, as well as organist-composers in Nigeria appearing in publications such as The Organ, The Hymn, ComposerUSA, Living Music, Twentieth Century Music and Organ Encyclopedia.
