Enoch W. Freeman

1798 - 1835 Hymnal Title: Calvin Hymnary Project Author of "Rouse ye at the Savior's call" Freeman, Enoch Weston, p. 389, ii. Freeman was born at Minot, Maine, Dec. 16, 1798. In 1828 he became pastor of the First Baptist Church, Lowell, Massachusetts, where he died suddenly, Sep. 22, 1835. He edited a Selection of Hymns, 1829-31, to which he contributed 7 of his own. Of these, "Hither we come, our dearest Lord," is still in common use. --John Julian, Dictionary of Hymnology, Appendix, Part II (1907)
