Beautiful City Of Gold

Representative Text

1 Beautiful city of gold,
O how my heart longs for thee!
The streets are as clear as crystal,
The pearly gates we shall see.

Refrain:
Beautiful city of gold (of gold),
Bought by the blood of the Lamb, we are told;
All who would ever that beauty behold,
Must come to Jesus and enter the fold.

2 Home of the bride of Jesus,
That beautiful home so fair,
His bride, too, is fair and spotless,
Her garments were wrought with care. [Refrain]

3 Some day we’ll meet all our loved ones,
When Jesus our Lord shall come,
With angels and clouds of glory,
Far brighter than noonday’s sun. [Refrain]

4 Friend, if you ever would enter
That beautiful land of light,
Be washed in the blood of Jesus,
And thou shalt receive thy sight. [Refrain]
