Representative Text

1 I lay me down in peace to sleep,
And sweet shall be my rest;
And satisfied I shall awake,
With Jesus’ likeness blest.

2 I lay me down in peace to wait
Until the dawn of day,
And rising I shall then behold
All shadows fled away.

3 Oh, slumber calm! Oh, waking bright!
Contented I shall lie,
Until the trump of God shall sound,
And summon me on high.
