Jetzt noch verhüllt schau ich das Licht

Representative Text

1 Jetzt noch verhüllt schau ich das Licht
von Jesu Gnadengesicht,
doch droben einst, nach kurzer Frist,
werd‘ ich Ihn sehen, wie Er ist!

Refrain:
Und dann wird alles offenbar,
was mir verhüllt und dunkel war,
und jubelnd sing‘ ich dort am Thron
das Lied des Lammes, Gottes Sohn!

2 Jetzt noch verhüllt erscheinen mir
des Vaters Weg und Führung hier;
doch droben werd‘ ich deutlich schaun,
wie gut es ist, Ihm zu vertraun. [Refrain]

3 Jetzt noch verhüllt, und doch wie schön,
im Glauben wartend aufwärts sehn,
bis sich der Wolkenschleier teilt
und unsre Seele zu Ihm eilt! [Refrain]
