Señor, en ti yo creo, y siempre creeré

Representative Text

1 Señor, en Ti yo creo
Y siempre creeré;
En mi alma harás que brille
La antorcha de la fe.
Al cielo ¡cuántas veces
Alcé en mi aflicción
La vista, y dulce alivio
Bajaba al corazón!

2 Es grato, si sufrimos
En horas de ansiedad,
Saber que desde el cielo
Nos miras con piedad;
Que cuentas nuestras penas,
Que ves el gran dolor,
Que escuchas nuestros ayes
Y envías tu favor.

3 ¡Señor, bendito seas,
Bendito veces mil!
Pues, aunque el mundo artero
Su red nos arma hostil,
En nuestro pecho enciendes
La llama de la fe,
Y mundo y red podemos
Hollar con nuestro pie.

4 La fe que al hombre anima,
Tu más precioso don,
Es luz en las tinieblas,
Alivio en la aflicción,
Amparo al desvalido,
Al náufrago salud,
Tesoro de alegrías,
Cimiento a la virtud.

5 Por eso yo te adoro,
Por eso creo en Ti,
De quien favores tantos
Sin precio recibí
Confirma y acrecienta,
Señor, mi humilde fe;
Y cual soy tuyo ahora,
Por siempre lo seré.
