Representative Text

1 There’s a Saviour on high,
And He bids me draw nigh;
He has promised to answer my prayer;
He will pardon my sin,
Will renew me within,
And my heart for His dwelling prepare.

Refrain:
Then to Jesus I’ll go,
For He loves me, I know,
And no longer His Spirit I’ll grieve;
From my sins He’ll release,
Give me comfort and peace,
And the gladness of them that believe.

2 Long in sin I have lain,
From its fetters my spirit to free;
But no effort of mine
E’er its bands can untwine,
Or bring hope or deliv’rance to me. [Refrain]

3 When His favor I know,
There is nothing below
That from Jesus my soul can remove;
When earth’s conflicts are past,
And there’s vict’ry at last,
He will bring me to mansions above. [Refrain]
