Representative Text

1 They are coming with songs,
The victorious throng,
Lo! up to Mount Zion they come;
With joy they are crowned,
Oh, what blessings abound
In the way to their glorious home.

Refrain:
They are coming, coming,
The ransomed of the Lord,
And Jesus, His banner o’er them spreads;
They are coming, coming,
Coming with songs,
And everlasting joy upon their heads.

2 Though rough is their path,
How unwav’ring their faith;
Though fearful the foe in their way,
Still singing they come
Up to Zion their home,
And they triumph in Christ day by day. [Refrain]

3 Oh, well may they sing,
For the Spirit doth bring
Rich foretastes of bliss as they go;
And earnest is giv’n,
And the glory of Heav’n
Makes bright all their pathway below. [Refrain]

4 Sing on, happy throng,
For your jubilant song
Is the wonderful story of grace—
It tells of the blood
Of the crucified Lord,
And bestows on the Lamb all the praise. [Refrain]
