Representative Text

1. This life is beset with temptation,
Surrounding us everywhere,
But Jesus is able to keep you—
Remember your mother’s prayer.

Refrain
Remember, my child, Oh, remember,
The years of maternal care;
The days that I prayed for you, dear one—
Remember your mother’s prayer.

2. My life and its labors are over,
I’m going to rest over there;
Abide in the love of your Savior—
Remember your mother’s prayer. [Refrain]

3. Though gone, I shall never forget you,
But wait in my mansion fair,
That sometime I’ll meet you up yonder—
Remember your mother’s prayer. [Refrain]
