1 Sing we the story of the Saviour's birth!
Peace and good will to all on earth!
Laud and adore the Virgin pure and mild
Who gave to us the heav'nly child!
So now we seek the newborn King,
And all our sweetest carols sing.

2 Angels, adore and praise in glorious strain;
Mortals, repeat the glad refrain!
Bright in the East a fair and shining star
Guided the wise men from afar.
Let all the earth rejoice and sing,
And heav'n with hallelujahs ring!

3 O'er all the earth our glad hosannas ring;
Hail we the Christ, the newborn King.
Shout the glad tidings of the Saviour's birth,
Good will to men and peace on earth.
Now is he come, your homage bring;
All hail the newborn infant King!
