348. Almighty Builder, Bless

1 Almighty Builder, bless, we pray,
The cornerstone that here we lay;
And fair above it may we see
A house to serve mankind and Thee!

2 In truth be these foundations laid,
Each ordered course in wisdom made,
That firm these rising walls may stand,
Thy witness in a waiting land.

3 So shall Thy people honor yet
The sure foundation Thou hast set,
In prophets and apostles known.
With Jesus Christ the cornerstone.

4 Eternal One, to Thee we raise
This house of service and of praise;
Thy love and glory shall not fade
When all earth's temples low are laid.
