As the shadows flee,

As the light we see;
With the birds on joyful wing,
Singing everywhere,
To thy heav’nly Father bring
Thy morning pray’r.

2 Pray, pray, pray at noon,
Wearied with thy load,
Pray, pray, pray at noon,
Prayer will do thee good;
Turn aside thy Lord to meet,
Tho’ the time is brief,
Lay thy burden at His feet,
Find sweet relief.

3 Pray, pray, pray at eve,
At the setting sun,
Pray, pray, pray at eve,
When thy work is done;
Freely then dismiss thy care,
As the hour’s depart,
Close the day with earnest prayer
And grateful heart.
