Text: | At The Well-side |
Author: | J. E. H. |
Tune: | [At the well-side worn and weary] |
Composer: | J. E. Hall |
1 At the well-side worn and weary,
Sat the Savior; thus one day,
To the woman, who came hither,
In sweet accents hear him say.
Refrain:
Whosoe’er this water drinketh,
Shall not thirst, shall not thirst;
Whosoe’er this water drinketh,
Shall not, shall not thirst again.
2 So to those who tread life’s pathway,
O’er its drear and desert lands,
Thirsting for some cooling fountain,
Now receive at Jesus’ hands. [Refrain]
3 Sinful one, wouldst know forgiveness?
Of thy sin wouldst cleansed be?
Hear the blessed Jesus saying,
“Come and drink, O come to me.” [Refrain]
