Scored for Organ

Sensitive reflections of the spirit and text of these three introspective hymns. "Morning Has Broken" depicts the Christian's happy heart which greets the new morn with a spirit of optimism and joy. The setting of "Land of Rest" achieves the felling of calm through the gently undulating, sighing, supportive chords in the hands while the tune soars quietly above it from the pedals. The accompaniment of "Thy Holy Wings" reflects the motion of water flowing gently within a stream. The hymn tune emerges from within the center of the harmonic texture, as grace emerges from the waters of Baptism.
