Frequently sung in concert by southern gospel quartets, this traditional spiritual was made famous in a recording by classic folksong artist Joan Baez. Tom Fettke’s upbeat, rhythmic arrangement captures its energy, conveying the anticipation of a more joyful existence “on the other side of Jordan.” Great for worship throughout the year, it may be especially useful for All Saints, the Baptism of Jesus, Reformation and Transfiguration.
