Kulak's Orchard

This piece is inspired by the parable of the sower in Matthew 13. The modal sound suggests a wooded landscape and the composer envisions a peasant farmer as the sower; hence the subtitle, "Kulak's Orchard" — kulak means "peasant" in Russian.
