Hymnals missing from DNAH

You are here

Today I could not find the 1912 Psalter (United Prebyterian) in the hymnary. This is a landmark U.S. Psalter, so this was a surprise to me. For that matter, I also did not see the 1911 The Book of Psalms (Reformed Presbyterian). And as long as I'm making a list, add Soul Echoes No. 2 (1909), an important hymnal for the study of Charles Tindley. I think there are other hymnals missing related to Tindley and I can make a list for anyone who is interested. I don't mind taking on some of these when time permits, but if there is a master list of hymnals that need to be added, these need to be on the list.

Hi Chris,

I wonder if this is it: http://www.hymnary.org/hymnal/PH1927. It lists a 1927 publication date, but perhaps it's simply a later printing of the 1912 edition. The same possible solution exists for the 1911 Book of Psalms: http://www.hymnary.org/hymnal/BPRM1929. If you didn't find these, I wonder if you had the "Search pre-1979" box checked.

Regardless, we could use someone with your expertise to help us edit some of these hymnals. If you're interested, contact us via the feedback form: http://www.hymnary.org/info/email.html?to=feedback.

Peace,

Greg
