Leopold Eberhard Bonsen (* 1699 in Montbéliard, † 1788 ) was a French Lutheran theologian.
He was born in Montbéliard in 1699 the son of a German father and a French. He studied theology at the University of Strasbourg. 1723 he was in a French church vicar, was then as tutor worked and was in 1727 as a vice-principal of the school used in his hometown. Eight years later he was promoted to rector. For superintendent he was appointed in 1769. 1788 he died in his hometown.

Bonsen was representative of the strict Lutheran orthodoxy and was directed against the Reformed Church and against pietism.
