Mumaw, Levi. (Winesburg, Ohio, November 16, 1879--June 4, 1935). Son of Amos and Catherine (Shaum) Mumaw. As a child lived in Elkhart County, Indiana; the family later moved to Wayne County, Ohio. Married Fannie E. Shoemaker in 1903. Businessman in Orrville until 1909, they moved to Freeport, Illinois. Two children: a daughter died in infancy, and a son (Russell) died in 1927. Fannie died in 1921. Mumaw married Alice Hershey in 1923.

In 1910 he took the position of Treasurer of the Mennonite Publishing House; later was Secretary-Treasurer. Vice President of the Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities; Secretary of the Mennonite Relief Committee. Proofread words and music for Church Hymnal (1927).
