1887 - 1958 Arranger of "[See the shining dewdrops]" in The Mennonite Hymnary, published by the Board of Publication of the General Conference of the Mennonite Church of North America Edward Shippen Barnes was an American organist and composer. He was born 9 September 1887 in Seabright, NJ and died 2 February 1958 in Idyllwild, CA. He studied at Yale University with Horatio Parker and Harry Jepson, then continued his studies in Paris. He worked as an organist at Church of the Incarnation in New York, Rutgers Presbyterian Chruch in New York, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia and the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. Albert C. Fisher

1886 - 1946 Person Name: A. C. F. Arranger of "[See the shining dewdrops]" in World Wide Revival Songs No. 2 Born: March 10, 1886, New Berne, North Carolina. Died: February 6, 1946, Dallas, Texas. Buried: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas. Fisher attended Fort Worth University and Polytechnic College, Fort Worth, Texas; Vanderbilt University; Southern Methodist University; and earned his Doctor of Divinity degree at Asbury College, Kentucky. He moved to Fort Worth in 1908, and for a decade served as a general evangelist for the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. In World War I, he was a military chaplain. After the war, he worked in the East Oklahoma Conference and (beginning in 1944), the North Texas Conference. William Griffiths

1777 - 1825 Person Name: W. Griffiths Author of "Bring, my heart, thy tribute" in Methodist Hymn and Tune Book GRIFFITHS, WILLIAM (1777-1825), Independent minister and teacher; born at Glandŵr, Pembs., the second son of John Griffiths (1731-1811) (q.v.). He was educated at the school of ‘one Mr. Foyle,’ at his father's school, and at Haverfordwest. He was admitted to the Wrexham Academy, 2 Feb. 1795 , and was an assistant there in his last year. He was ordained as joint minister with his father, 23 May 1803(?). He achieved some degree of prominence as a preacher in English and in Welsh . He was seriously ill in 1809, and again in 1824, and died 5 Jan. 1825. He was very fond of writing and translating hymns, several of which are found in Y Caniedydd Cynulleidfaol Newydd. --wbo.llgc.org.uk/en/
