Person Name: H. H. Wyatt Author of "God the Lord has [hath] heard our prayer" in The Canadian Baptist Hymnal for the use of Churches and Families Wyatt, Henry Herbert, M.A., was educated at Queen's College, Oxford (B.A. 1844, M.A. 1847), and took Holy Orders in 1845. He was travelling secretary for the S. P. G., 1852-56; incumbent of Holy Trinity Chapel, Brighton, 1856-66; principal of the Brighton Training College, 1863-86; and vicar of Bolney, Sussex, 1872-86. In 1886 he became rector of Conington, Ely. Mr. Wyatt has published Principal Heresies relating to our Lord's Incarnation, 1881; The Gospel according to St. Matthew, with Explanatory Notes for the Use of Teachers in Schools, 1884; and Psalms and Hymns for Public Worship, 1859 (4th ed., 1868). To this Collection he contributed in 1859 his well known hymn for National Thanksgiving, "God the Lord has [hath] heard our prayer." It is given in several collections, including the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge Church Hymns, 1871; Thring's Collection, 1882, and others. -- John Julian, Dictionary of Hymnology (1907)

Mrs. Susie May Patterson Wyburn

1880 - 1958 Person Name: Mrs. J. H. Wyburn Author of "What a precious Savior" May was a volunteer at the Bowery Mission in New York when she met John H. Wyburn, who was then superintendent of the Mission. John Wyburn later became assistant superintendent and then superintendent of the McAuley Water Street Mission. She wrote the book, But Until Seventy Times Seven (New York, 1936) a story of the mission through the lives of its three early leaders.
