57. Fall Into Line!

1 A warfare is raging
'twixt wrong and the right;
The Lord calls for helpers,
His battles to fight;
The ranks are depleted
By onslaughts of sin,
Report then for service
And be mustered in.

Chorus:
Fall into line, brother,
Fall into line!
And take your position,
As God shall design;
Be wise and refuse not
The summons divine,
But gird on the armor,
And fall into line.

2 No drafted one ever
In these lines appears,
For none are accepted
but true volunteers;
With weapons not carnal
The Lord's soldiers win,
And gain their great vict'ries
O'er Satan and sin. [Chorus]

3 Unlike earthly warfare,
The future is bright;
There's peace in the conflict,
And joy in the flight;
The Spirit is with us,
Supplying our needs;
Heav'n's banner floats o'er us,
And king Jesus leads [Chorus]

4 The foe is aggressive,
And crafty and strong,
And war 'gainst the saints he
Has wagged fierce and long;
But God is Almighty,
We need not repine;
In him we shall conquer,
O, fall into line! [Chorus]
