507. Lo, We Tread On Holy Ground

1 Lo, we tread on holy ground,
Hearts elate with hope and joy.
Here may grace and truth abound,
Hymns of praise our lips employ.

2 Let us build a temple fair,
Zion's walls in beauty raise;
God's redeeming love declare,
Sing His name through endless days.

3 At His altar let us bend,
Make the willing sacrifice:
Lord, Thy mercy here extend
To our penitential cries.

4 Cleansing waters for the soul
From this found of life shall flow;
While the seasons swiftly roll,
All His saying pow'r shall know.

5 Sound the Gospel message old,
Saving men from death and woe;
Firmly to this faith we hold,
Join the battle with the foe.

6 Long as earth and time shall be,
May God's people here be found;
Wondering eyes God's glory see.
As men tread this holy ground.

Amen.
