106. Heralds of the Lord of Glory

1 Heralds of the Lord of glory,
Spread your message far and wide,
Tell the world the old, old story,
Of the Christ who was crucified;
What an honor to be chosen
An ambassador for God,
To be fitted by God’s Spirit,
For the service of the Lord.

Chorus:
Grand is the work God gives to do,
Spreading the news of love,
Pointing the sinner to the cross
And to that bright home above,
Heralds of the Lord of glory,
Onward, in the name divine,
Winning the lost to your Saviour,
You at last as the stars shall shine.

2 Heralds of the Lord of glory,
Messengers from heav’n above,
Multitudes today are waiting,
For the story of God’s great love;
With the pow’r of God upon you,
And His word within your heart,
Out among the busy workers,
You must do your little part. [Chorus]

3 Heralds of the Lord of glory,
Once redeemed thro’ precious blood,
Go, beseech some other lost ones,
To be now reconciled to God;
By the love that sought and found you,
By your Saviour’s cross of shame,
Herald our salvation’s story,
To the world, in Jesus’ Name. [Chorus]
