That palace so wondrously fair,
Jesus, the Savior, with pow’r in his name,
And beauty past earthly compare.
Refrain:
Out of the palace of Iv’ry he came
With garments all perfumes, all perfumed with myrrh;
Both aloes and cassia were there to be seen,
A vision man’s soul, man’s soul to bestir.
2 All of his garments are scented with myrrh,
A perfume as lasting as time;
Fragrance to scatter where’er he doth stir,
Enduring, refining, sublime. [Refrain]
3 Sorrow and bitterness here for his cup,
And heavy the burdens he bore;
