Text: | Music Up There |
Author: | T. H. |
Tune: | [Some fair morn I shall stand] |
Composer: | Thoro Harris |
1 Some fair morn I shall stand
On that beautiful strand
In the shade of the life-giving tree;
By life’s river so fair
I shall meet over there
Many dear ones now waiting for me.
Refrain:
Yes, there’s music up there
In yon city so fair
Free from sorrow, temptation and pain;
O what rapture ‘twill be
Our Redeemer to see
And the dear ones in glory again!
2 Soon the cross I’ll lay down
For a glorious crown
When I come to the end of the road;
There to join in the song
Of the angelic throng
In that beautiful garden of God. [Refrain]
3 In that city of gold
‘Twill be joy to behold
Many friends who have lighten’d my way
Up the steep, rugged height
To those mansions of light
In that land of perennial day. [Refrain]
