The Builders

Author: Paulina Hymnal: Wondrous Love #62 (1885) First Line: O Builders! haste to the rock alone Lyrics: 1 O Builders! haste to the rock alone; ‘Tis Jesus Christ the corner stone; We sing his praise as we build today, For “other foundations can no one lay.” Refrain: O Builders! haste to the Rock away, For “other foundations can no one lay,” By snares of Satan no more enticed, We now build alone on the Rock of Christ. 2 We builded long on the sand of sin, Our wrecks went out,—the tide came in; By snares of Satan no more enticed, We now build alone on the Rock of Christ. [Refrain] 3 The rains descend and the tempests rave, But trusting him whose power can save, We sing his praise and will sing for aye, For “other foundations can no one lay.” [Refrain] Tune Title: [O Builders! haste to the rock alone]
