Representative Text

1 Tell me the story of Jesus,
Who left His throne on high,
Who came to earth to suffer,
Upon the cross to die.
Tell me the story of Jesus,
The story of God’s only Son,
Who gave His life to redeem us;
Behold, then, the crucified One!

Refrain:
Tell me the story of Jesus,
Tell me the story of Jesus,
Wonderful, wonderful story,
Of Jesus, the crucified One.

2 Tell me the story of Jesus,
The spotless Son of God,
Who carried our griefs and sorrows;
The wine press of wrath He trod.
Tell me the story of Jesus,
Of how He died for me.
The sinless One for the guilty,
He died to set me free. [Refrain]

3 Tell me the story of Jesus,
Who went about doing good,
Who healed the sick and suff’ring,
And led the people to God.
Tell me the story of Jesus,
Of the resurrection morn,
When life and immortality
To us thro’ Him was born. [Refrain]

4 Tell me the story of Jesus,
Redeemer, Savior, king!
O what a glorious Savior!
His praises I will sing.
He ever lives in glory,
When He hath gone to prepare
A place for us in the mansions,
"Many mansions" of Heaven so fair. [Refrain]
