Representative Text

1 Again the Sabbath God has blest,
To us returns with peace and rest;
And to His courts we come to pay,
Our tribute on the Lord’s own day.

2 Oh, blessed day, in which we turn
Our hearts to God, and Heav’n, and learn
The lesson of its holy calm,
And worship Him, the great I am.

3 Today God seems so very near,
He smiles, the shadows disappear,
And in the sunshine of His love,
Our hearts mount upward like the dove.

4 Hail, holy day, wherein may we
Find foretaste of the rest to be,
When heavn’s eternal Sabbath brings
Fulfilment of God’s promisings.
