Alone with thee, O Lord, when day is dead

Alone with thee, O Lord, when day is dead

Author: Hans Andreas Urseth
Tune: DET SPREDES MER
Published in 3 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Alone with Thee, O Lord, when day is dead
And all its faded splendors on have fled,
I fondly dwell, and listen at Thy knee
The words, the wond'rous words that come from Thee.

2 Alone with Thee, dear Lamb of Calvary,
Who shed Thy blood, and died, and lives for me,
I long to stay to see Thy wounded side,
And know that all my sorrows it can hide.

3 Alone with Thee I only pray to be
When light and way I can no longer see,
That I may safely reach across the line,
And hold in mine no other hand but Thine.
