Representative Text

1 Army of salvation, hear the trumpet call;
Go ye forth to battle, break sin’s mighty wall!
Crowns and thrones must perish, kings and kingdoms fall,
Till is crowned our Christ, the Savior, “Lord of all.”

Chorus:
Forward! forward! heed the battle cry;
Hail salvation’s banner; lift the standard high;
Forward! forward! fighting till ye die,
Ye shall gain the victory by and by.

2 Army of salvation, conquer! for ye must
Fight till sin is vanquished, buried in the dust;
Right shall be triumphant, God is true and just;
In his pow’r the great Almighty ye may trust. [Chorus]

3 Army of salvation, let thy fears be o’er;
Smite where heroes never dared to smite before;
Christ shall reign in glory, doubt it nevermore;
All the world shall own him Savior, and adore. [Chorus]
