Representative Text

1 At the place of prayer we wait today,
While the Spirit speaks and we obey;
Flames of pow’r are falling,
While on Christ we’re calling.
Let the Pentecostal fire come down.

Refrain:
Let the Pentecostal fire come down,
Let the Pentecostal fire come down;
Swing the gates of glory
While we wait before Thee—
Let the Pentecostal fire come down.

2 All upon Thy altar, Lord, we lay;
Burn the dross, consume the sin, we pray;
Thou wilt not deny us—
Purge and purify us!
Let the Pentecostal fire come down. [Refrain]

3 Let the waves of blessing sweep this way,
Flood our souls with glory, Lord, today!
Now we claim Thy promise,
Send the pow’r upon us!
Let the Pentecostal fire come down. [Refrain]
