Awake, arise, the Master comes

Representative Text

1 Awake! arise! the Master comes and calls for you!
Awake! arise! and look upon the rip’ning grain!
The fields are white, the harvest must be gathered in!
O must He call in vain?

Refrain:
The Master is calling you
To gather the golden grain!
The field is wide, the lab’rers few,
O must He call in vain?

2 Awake! arise! O hasten, ere the day is done!
Go forth to work, for lo! the reapers are but few!
Leave not the task for other hands, but do your part,
For He is calling you. [Refrain]

3 Awake! arise! how vast the need on ev’ry hand;
Arise in haste thy many duties to begin;
The day is passing by, and still the call is heard,—
Go forth thy sheaves to win. [Refrain]
