Representative Text

1 Before I found my Saviour,
I had a load of care;
No comfort in my sorrow,
No help my yoke to bear;
But now that I know Jesus,
And all my cares are gone,
My soul is fill’d with singing,
And my lips are fill’d with song.

Refrain:
My soul is fill’d with singing,
My days are bright with love;
I’m happy here, and waiting
For the perfect bliss above.

2 Since I have found the Saviour,
My heart is free and light;
My days no more are dreary,
No sadness comes with night;
But joy is mine unceasing,
And sunshine floods my way;
I’m on the road to heaven,
And to everlasting day. [Refrain]

3 I’m ever looking homeward,
Where perfect bliss awaits,
Where crowns await our coming,
Beyond the pearly gates;
My heart is fill’d with longing
To pass those portals fair,
And greet the friends and angels
Who await my coming there. [Refrain]
