Representative Text

Antiphon:
Remember thy servants, Lord,
when comeeth thy glorious reign.

1 Blessed are the poor in spirit;
for the heavenly Kingdom is theirs.

2 Blessed are they that do mourn;
for their Lord shall wipe away their tears.

3 Blessed in Him are the meek;
for their heritage shall be the earth.

4 Blessed are they that seek righteousness;
in that great day their trust shall be quenched.

5 Blessed are they that show mercy;
for God shall be merciful un to them.

6 Blessed are the pure in heart;
for in that day shall they see their God.

7 Blessed are they that make peace;
for they shall be called children of God.

8 Blessed those who suffer for Him;
the righteous own the kingdom of Heav'n.

9 Blessed ye whom men revile;
this world shall persecute you for me.

10 Rejoice, be ye glad in God;
for in heaven great is your reward. [Antiphon]
