Representative Text

1 Blessed are the words of the Savior,
The cure for all sorrow and strife;
The true, true bread for all hungers,
They are spirit and they are life.

Refrain:
His blessed words are life,
His blessed words are life,
His words are heaven’s open door;
They all cravings satisfy,
He that hath them shall not die,
He shall live forevermore.

2 When the heavy-laden and weary
Shall come, by their trials oppressed,
He gives them strength in his mercy,
By the life that is truest rest. [Refrain]

3 Trusting in the word of our Savior,
We know we shall surely be fed;
And nevermore shall we hunger,
For his word is the Living Bread. [Refrain]
