Representative Text

1 Blessed Shepherd, gently leading
All Thy flock with tender care,
Let us evermore be feeding
In Thy pastures green and fair.

Refrain:
Shepherd of the flock, be near us;
In Thy tender mercy hear us;
With thy blessed comfort cheer us,
Shepherd of the ransom’d flock.

2 Lead us by the sparkling fountains
Flowing from the springs above;
From the everlasting mountains,
Truth and mercy, grace and love. [Refrain]

3 Have we wandered, sadly straying?
Wilt Thou not our souls restore?
Let us hear Thy sweet voice saying,
“Go in peace, and sin no more.” [Refrain]

4 Through life’s day be close beside us,
Guard us from its wintry cold;
And at nightfall, homeward guide us;
Lift us to the higher fold. [Refrain]
