During our last fund drive a donor said this: "Covid-19 rules prevent us from singing during my husband's burial service, so we will play the tune while we read the printed words or hum along with the music." Needless to say, this testimony struck us and stuck with us. We never know on any given day how Hymnary.org will be a blessing to people, but we know that around the world, the site is making a powerful difference in the lives of many.

Thanks to all who use Hymnary.org and all who support it with gifts of time, talent and treasure. If you feel moved to support our work today with a gift of any amount and a word of encouragement, we would be grateful.

What though my joys and comfort die?
The Lord my savior liveth.
What though the darkness gather round?
Songs in the night he giveth.

Representative Text

1 Brave men are needed for Christ today,
Out where the battle is long;
Forth at the summons, the call obey,
Quit you like men, be strong!

Refrain:
Quit you like men, be strong,
Hard is the fight and long;
Onward and fail not,
Forward and quail not,
Quit you like men, be strong!

2 Seeking not ease nor applause of men,
Enter the fight against wrong;
Suff’ring defeat, but to rise again,
Quit you like men, be strong! [Refrain]

3 What tho’ you suffer, do not complain;
Cheer your faint heart with a song;
Let not your courage grow slack and wane,
Quit you like men, be strong! [Refrain]

4 Steadfast, unyielding, the battle press,
You to God’s army belong;
Clad in his armor of righteousness,
Vict’ry’s assured, be strong! [Refrain]
