Representative Text

1 Broad is the op’ning field,
Calling for help today;
Great is the harvest yield,—
Why should the work delay?

Refrain:
Up and away, my brother!
Gather the golden grain;
Be not a moment idle,
Gather, gather,
Gather till none shall remain.

2 Few are the willing hearts
Ready the work to do;
Weak are the lab’ring hands,
Weary the faithful few. [Refrain]

3 Word from our Lord has come,—
Sounds in our ears today:
White are the harvest fields;
Pray for more lab’rers—pray! [Refrain]
