Representative Text

1 Child of Mine, give Me thine heart,
Say not “When I’m older grown”;
Others then may claim a part,
I would have it all my own.

2 Child of Mine, give Me thine heart,
Youthful days for me employ,
Make My Book thy rule and chart,
To obey thy chiefest joy.

3 Child of Mine, give Me thine heart,
Then the world can hold no charm,
No remorse with bitter smart,
Nor can Satan’s arrows harm.

4 Child of Mine, give Me thine heart,
I have paid the price for thee;
Pierc’d was I by thy sin’s dart,
Won’t you give Mine own to Me?
