Full Text

Come to the light of Easter day,
Come, for the night has passed away;
See, the Saviour quits the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.
Death is vanquished, man is free;
Christ hath won the victory.

O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?
O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin;
And the strength of sin is the law,
The strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory,
Who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Then hear the glad anthem that comes down the ages,
And telleth of Jesus’ arising;
Then hear the glad anthem that comes down the ages,
And telleth of Jesus’ arising.

Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia,
Sons of men and angels, say; Alleluia,
Raise your joys and triumphs high! Alleluia,
Sing ye heav’ns! and earth replay! Alleluia.
Alleluia! Amen.
